The Disturbing History Of Food Additives
About This Project
The Disturbing History Of Food Additives | Oil On Tap
I edited this episode of Oil On Tap in a Vox-style explainer format, turning a dense, research-heavy topic on food additives and the regulatory system behind them into a clear, visually driven story.
My work on this project included:
Editing the full video in a Vox-style documentary format, with tight pacing and clear story flow
Designing and animating motion graphics in After Effects to support each point in the narration
Building visuals that explain complex ideas, including text call-outs, animated data, and supporting imagery
Keeping the look consistent with the channel's established visual style across episodes
Color grading and polishing footage and graphics so everything feels cohesive
Final export and formatting for YouTube delivery
The goal was to make a topic that could feel dry and technical feel engaging and easy to follow from start to finish.
